All I have to say is, “Sounds cumbersome…”
Bleg: Travel Advice
2arrs2ells:
Looking like I’ll be headed to Ireland for spring break this year - flying in + out of Dublin.
If you’ve been there, any advice? What cities are must sees? Should we rent a car? Stay in hostels or B&Bs? How bad will the weather be (in mid-March)?
One of my good friends, the daughter of Brazillian diplomats currently stationed in Dublin (which they hate), will have some...

The tiles are made of one element and are attached by special rubber bands. Creating your own piece is quick and easy, whether you want a simple design or a complex decorative screen or wall. You can easily arrange and re-arrange the tiles to reflect your individual style and bring new ideas into your home, time and time again.

Internet Throwback: Bexley's LiveJournal Community →
2arrs2ells:
Four and a half years ago, I tried to create a LJ community for my little Columbus suburb. It never took off, but digging up this post cracked me up.
Oh my god. Oh my god. OH. MY. GOD.

Takeaway: Don’t try to make the web feel like the desktop (via Daring Fireball, CodingHorror)
True for the time being, but I’m wary of any declarations that can possibly subvert future innovation by throwing a huge “do not attempt!” sign over the concept.
I wonder how all this figures into Apple’s patented “Multidimensional Desktop.” I know...
Civic Literacy Test →
I (miraculously) got 29/33. And definitely agree with Daniel—a pretty random collection of facts. If anything, all it demonstrated was I don’t have good recall for the source of quotes…damn that Gettysburg Address.

I got an 85% (28/33). I’m qualified to live here! Yay!
Got a 29/33. Not an easy quiz, and a bit all over the place (some...
Inspired Inspirers →
Nice collection featuring young graphic artists from around the world. Dovetailing with my previous post, however, the so far 16 “inspirers” are all men. Hmmm…I’ve already let the site owners know that I’d like to see for the next issue.
Women of Design →
This book, Women of Design, has been making the blog rounds as of late. Definitely much needed in the design literature. Hopefully Women of Interaction Design comes next.

New MFA in interaction design from SVA →
I’ve never been able to see myself at an “art school,” but damn, look at that faculty list! Jason Santa Maria, Jeffrey Zeldman, Jennifer Bove, Khoi Vihn (!!!), just to name a few…
Time to reconsider my plans.
"In defense of cognitive-enhancing drugs" →
A new article in Nature arguing in favor of making such drugs widely available. I’m learning more towards against, for a number of reasons. And, as a girl (from Mexico) said in one of my classes last week, “You all (re: Americans) sure take a lot of pills.” I couldn’t disagree.
Shaun Tan Interview →
Interesting interview with Australian illustrator/animator Shaun Tan, which includes sneak peek of his first short film. Love his stuff, but I have to say CGI animation does not do his illustrations justice.
